The colour is medium purple. The nose shows powerful red fruit with hints of cherry, cola, citrus and confectionary notes. One may also encounter raspberry leaf, liquorice and sweet spice.

The fruit is succulent with cassis and blackberry, transitioning seamlessly to incorporate gun-metal and flinty characters with fine insistent tannins and linear acidity for a clean finish.

Grenache (50%) Syrah (25%) and Mourvèdre (24%) are sourced from our Rhône plantings. A tiny quantity of Muscat of Alexandrea (roughly 1%) is co-fermented with the Grenache.

All varietals were harvested upon reaching phenolic ripeness and cropped at 1.8 tonnes to the acre. Grenache-Muscat, Syrah and Mourvèdre were fermented separately in open top fermenters using 30% indigenous yeasts.  More than half of the wine was left to soak on skins for a further 16 days post fermentation. The wine was  aged  in  older French oak barriques for 22 months prior to bottling without fining or filtration.
