Colour: Bright garnet

Nose: The nose is dominated by bright red cherry fruit, with cool climate spice, raspberry leaf and black tea notes.

Palate: The palate is at one with the nose, juxtaposing elegant red fruit with forest-floor characters and fine dusty tannins. A classic Yarra Valley Pinot Noir.

Fruit for Hill Road Pinot Noir is sourced from a 25 year old single-vineyard site where arched cane vines are thinned to a single bunch per shoot. Equal parts of 114, 115 and MV6 clones were destemmed and crushed prior to fermentation in small open top stainless steel vats retaining a small portion of stalk for complexity. Some vats underwent post-fermentation maceration adding structure and balance. The wine was moved to the cellar for maturation in French oak barriques (20% new). After 12 months, the wine was racked and bottled without fining or filtration.
