Ripe, layered and humming with energy, the 2022 Chenin Blanc delivers concentration without sacrificing freshness. --- We have long loved the wines of the Loire, with areas like Vouvray and Montlouis esteemed as our benchmarks for Che...
Our Chenin Blanc vines grow on a north-east facing slope, planted on an acre block at the lower west side of the property. Ripe, hand-picked fruit was lightly crushed and gently basket-pressed to tank. Juice was gravity-fed to oak for fermentation by wild yeast, followed by partial spontaneous malolactic conversion. Matured on lees in old French oak for 15 months with light lees stirring for added richness and complexity.
Tasting Note
A complex and intensely perfumed nose with vibrant aromas of white orchard and stone fruits, white blossom and hints of biscuit and cream. The palate is soft and textured, balanced with racy thread of acidity and juicy notes of peach, yellow apple and ripe lemon layered with marzipan and river stone minerality. The finish is long and ripe with lingering nectarine. An elegant, vibrant wine with plenty of potential to develop – both in the bottle and the glass.
